Some quick image editing secrets in some default software that may not be common knowledge. You already know that Preview can be used to view photos and read PDFs, but did you know you can also crop images and even remove backgrounds from photos?
Use Command + K when you have an area of the image selected to crop the image
Click and drag with the Instant Alpha tool to eliminate background colors, drag further to eliminate more, drag less to remove less. Not all backgrounds may work perfectly, you may have to do it more than once to get the desired look.

Application Switching in Mac OS X
A quick little tip for all the Mac users out there (Many of you may already know):
Hold the Command (Apple) Button and hit the Tab button to quickly switch back to the last application you were using. While still pressing the command button, you can use the right and left arrow keys or repeatedly press the tab key to navigate to the icon of the Application you wish to switch to.
More to be posted soon!
Just a note: Not sure if this will work in previous versions of the OS, I have only used Leopard.
